"When a young man who is 22 is shot down in his grandma's backyard, which is supposed to be a safe place, I don't know". Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg echoed the department's call to wait for official results and that he knew the details would be "graphic and disturbing". County records showed only the date of Clark's death and described him as a 22-year-old black man. Send in dogs? Send in a taser? Why?

At least 150 people were at a downtown park Saturday afternoon for a demonstration in the wake of the March 18 shooting death of Stephon Clark by two police officers.

Omalu said he found a total of eight gunshot wounds on Clark's body.

Benjamin Crump, the attorney hired by the Clark family, cautioned protesters and asked people to refrain from violence.

"We're not mad at all the law enforcement".

NBC Bay Area reported that the protests have been costly for the already struggling Kings. "Black people have never got the respect or credit due". Coalition, I can say that we are united in our insistence that our city's leaders commit themselves to doing what is right. "Okay?" he added, referencing calls from Parkland students like David Hogg and Jaclyn Corrin to promote inclusivity while checking white privilege.

Police in a helicopter ordered them to leave or be arrested, and they returned to the main protest. But we demand that change in this city happen and that it happens now. In the body camera video, an officer is heard shouting the word "gun" repeatedly and opening fire almost immediately.

Police handcuffed shut a downtown Sacramento hotel door to stop protesters from entering as they marched against Clark's killing.

The autopsy was released a day after an emotional funeral service.

An internal review is being done by the County Sheriff's Department.

Crump says his team is looking to prove that police could have have used a non-lethal manner of force.

The second patrol car drove behind the first and struck Wanda Cleveland, a protester who was walking across the street, knocking her to the ground.

"Stephon Clark!" the group yelled in response. Police said the officers fired 20 shots. "At the time of the shooting, the officers believed the suspect was pointing a firearm at them".

This week the family of Stephon Alonzo Clark said their final farewells to their dearly loved grandson, father, brother and fiancé.

Both the shooting and the cops' comments are caught on their body cameras and a video shot from a police helicopter.

Officers began to purse Clark on foot and determined that he was armed with a gun.

"This independent autopsy affirms that Stephon was not a threat to police and was slain in another senseless police killing under increasingly questionable circumstances", Crump said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Steinberg said disruptions like Stevante Clark's at Tuesday's council meeting won't happen again. "There's fear, frustration, anger, disappointment, uneasiness".

Omalu said Clark was likely facing the house when he was first shot, with the bullet hitting him on the back left side of his torso.

President Trump's administration would beg to differ.

In an impromptu and heartfelt speech at Wednesday night's game, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive said the shooting was "absolutely horrific".

Al Sharpton, who called the death of Stephon Clark "an atrocity", will give the eulogy at the funeral scheduled for 11 a.m. local time at Bayside of South Sacramento church. "So it hurt me because it was so close to home, because if I was walking outside that could have been me". Current Kings players are expected to attend, as well.
